Teaching staff at The Lisa Jane School of Dance are fully qualified and experienced in teaching dance to all ages and abilities! Our staff have gone through the necessary training with the Royal Academy of Dance and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing to become fully registered teachers.
Our teachers continue to attend regular courses and training schemes to ensure that qualifications and knowledge of the syllabus is kept up-to-date. We hope to provide our students with the best training possible and will continue to attend teachers courses to continually improve the standards achieved.
Teaching staff and volunteer assistants have a full CRB/DBS check and are suitably insured.
"Miss Lisa" opened The Lisa Jane School of Dance in January 2015 after purchasing an established and long standing local dance school business that has operated in the area for over 40years under various owners.
With 16 years experience in teaching dance in both the UK and Abroad, Miss Lisa hopes to combine good quality training in dance with fun and enjoyment for all pupils.
Dance training started at the tender age of 3, when Lisa began ballet classes with Mrs Jenny Taylor. Discovering a passion for dance, she remained committed to her tuition in Ballet, Modern & Tap achieving advanced level exams before starting her teacher training at the age of 18. A background in music, playing piano, flute and singing exams as a child alongside a passion for musical theatre and A levels in music & theatre studies provided a wealth of performance opportunities and experience.
ISTD teaching qualifications were gained at The Janet Marshall Dance Studios, Cheltenham and Lisa also became a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance by enrolling on their CBTS course. Now also a certified instructor for acrobatic arts and "Diverse Dance Mix" we are very pleased to be able to offer more variety to our class schedule.
Miss Lisa now teaches full time syllabus classes, choreographs festival work and prepares students for displays and performances.
"Miss Zara" is also an ex-pupil of Mrs Jenny Taylor and with over 25 years experience in teaching holds the licentiate qualification with The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
Miss Zara also teaches at a full time teacher training college & school in Swindon alongside her classes at The Lisa Jane School of Dance, successfully training students to gain their teaching qualifications.
Our pupils always find Miss Zara's classes very enjoyable and she works very hard to ensure they are fully prepared for their approaching exams achieving great results!
